ロッド・スチュワートの17枚目のスタジオアルバム。自作曲のほか、ボブ・ディラン、クリス・レア、トム・ペティ、サム・クック、マーク・ジョーダンらのカバー曲を収録。12曲中9曲をトレヴァー・ホーンがプロデュース（一部共同あり）。トム・ウェイツ作の「ハング・オン・セント・クリストファー」にロル・クレームがエレキギターで参加している。
ホーンとのコラボレーションは、1989年の4枚組BOX「ストーリーテラー／コンプリート・アンソロジー 1964-1990」用にレコーディングされた新曲「ディス・オールド・ハート・オブ・マイン」「ダウンタウン・トレイン」から。トム・ウェイツのカバー「ダウンタウン・トレイン」は全米チャート3位（アダルトコンテンポラリー部門1位）、全英10位と久々の大ヒットとなり、ロッドの音楽シーン復活に貢献した。
全英チャート4位、全米35位。邦題は「ユア・ザ・スター」。日本では収録曲の「レディ・ラック」がTVドラマの主題歌になった事もあり、オリコンチャート26位とヒットしている。
