70年代後半にデビューした、スティング、スチュアート・コープランド、アンディ・サマーズによるロック・バンド、ポリスの、5枚目のアルバム「シンクロニシティー」からのシングルカット。邦題は「見つめていたい」。全英チャート1位。
バンド＋弦楽団の演奏を、極端にコントラストを強調した白黒映像で撮っている。
おそらく世界一有名なゴドレイ＆クレーム作のプロモーション・ビデオ。ピーター・バラカン氏によるとジョン・ミリの「ジャミング・ザ・ブルーズ」(1944)という短編映画にヒントを得てるらしい。白黒版の他に青、赤、黄色版が制作されている。ハリウッドのA&M" Charlie Chaplin Soundstage"で撮影された。
1978年初夏、ポリスのデビューアルバム制作時のスタジオ（ナイジェル・グレイ所有のサリー・サウンド・スタジオ）を、同時期にゴドレイ＆クレームが使用していたことから知り合い、親交があったためビデオ制作を依頼したと、後にコープランドがインタビューに答えている。
