ケヴィン・ゴドレイ提唱の環境問題チャリティアルバム。邦題は「ワン・ワールド・ワン・ヴォイス」。50分強もある1曲を制作するために世界26ヶ所のスタジオで292名以上のミュージシャンが参加した。スティングのベースをベーシック・トラックとし、チェーン・レターよろしく各パートごとにミュージシャンからミュージシャンに渡して完成させていく"チェーン・ミュージック"プロジェクトで制作された。プロジェクト全体のプロデュースは元キャメルのアンディ・ワードが、音楽プロデュースはルパート・ハインが担当した。
1990年2月28日ニューヨークから始まり、4月28日のレニングラード（現サンクトペテルブルク）までの2ヶ月間、ハインとケヴィンは世界中をテープと共に駆け回った。使用したテープの長さは10,758フィートにも及んだ。
イギリスのBBC、日本のNHKなど20ヶ国のテレビ局で、1990年5月20日から26日までのスペシャル・プログラム「ワン・ワールド・シンフォニー」が放送され、その最後にこの曲の映像バージョンが流された。映像バージョンの監督はケヴィンが担当している。
